Sweet & Nutritious High Protein Berry Beetroot Smoothie
I have two go-to smoothie recipes that I will pull out if I need a nutritious meal in the morning or for lunch with lots of vitamins. This sweet & nutritious high protein berry beetroot smoothie is my absolute favourite. It tastes sweet but if filled with vegetables and vegan protein. If possible I choose organic vegetables as they contain more vitamins and a lot of the time have a richer taste.
You might think ughh that’s a lot of veggies for a smoothie. Especially if you normally make your smoothies with mostly fruits or don’t drink smoothies at all. But you might be surprised by how good this one tastes. I blame it all on the banana flavour shot which makes it taste like a little banana party. The average recommended intake is generally set at 250g of vegetables each day but research by the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity shows that only 10.0% met this amount of vegetables recommended in 2022. So why not start the day with a vegetable boost containing 150g of vegetables but with a sweet banana taste.
My Sweet & Nutritious High Protein Berry Beetroot Smoothie R|ecipe
Put all the ingredients below in a mixer and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
- 100g cooked beets
- 50g zucchini
- 200ml pea milk
- 35g Vegan Pea protein (I use this Pea Protein, but any brand will do)
- 10g cacoa
- 50g blueberries
- 35g banana
- Flavour shot banana (I use this flavour shot, but you can also chose a flavoured protein powder)
If I want to boost my immune system, I like to add a scoop of the Superfoodies green juice powder. It contains chorella, spirulina & algaes and gives my body a boost.
I like to switch things up when it comes to my morning smoothies and this easy high protein spinach cacao smoothie is a nice treat as well.
