Easy delicious high protein cacao smoothie
This is my go-to high protein cacao smoothie in the morning if I don’t have much time but I still want to get a good start of the day with lots of vegetables (but don’t taste like it)! This easy, healthy and delicious high protein cacao smoothie has everything my body needs to feel energized and ready to conquer the day.
You might think ughh that’s a lot of veggies for a smoothie. Especially if you normally make your smoothies with mostly fruits or don’t drink smoothies at all. But you might be surprised by how good this one tastes. I blame it all on the cacao which makes it taste like a little chocolate party. The average recommended intake is generally set at 250g of vegetables each day but research by the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity shows that only 10.0% met this amount of vegetables recommended in 2022. So why not start the day with a vegetable boost containing 100g of vegetables but with a chocolate taste.

My high protein cacao smoothie recipe
Put all the ingredients below in a mixer and blend until it’s a smooth substance. Enjoy!
- 20g cacao
- 40g spinach
- 50g carrots
- 200ml pea milk
- 50g of frozen red fruit
- 1 stalk celery (about 25g)
- Vegan Pea protein (I use this Pea Protein, but any brand will do)
- Flavour shot banana (I use this flavour shot, but you can also chose a flavoured protein powder)
Sometimes I like to add a scoop of this Superfoodies green juice powder which contains chorella, spirulina and algaes, to give my body a health boost and include some more protein.
